A HOSPICE is spreading their message far and wide thanks to a cargo company in Thurrock.

Uniserve, which undertakes deliveries and collections of import and export cargo, have been supporting children’s hospice, Little Havens for 15 years, donating more than £340,000 since then.

One of Uniserve’s lorries, which measures 16.9 metres long and 2.6 metres wide, has had the charity’s logo and strapline – ‘Making every day count’ - printed on its side.

The lorry will travel approximately 150 miles each day from its Tilbury depot, covering London, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, West Midlands, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset. Tanya King, Corporate Fundraiser at Little Havens, said: “Having a child with a life-limiting illness, or coping with the death of a child is something most of us couldn’t even contemplate.

“Whether a child is in our care for years, months, weeks or sometimes just hours, it’s about ‘Making every day count’ for them and their families.

“Little Havens is a special place but it could not exist without support from the community and businesses like Uniserve.

“I can’t thank them enough for supporting us in this unique way, thanks to their help we can continue caring for children and families across Essex when they need us most.”

Little Havens in Thundersley are a registered charity – not part of the NHS – and receive limited government funding. They provide respite, symptom control and end of life care to babies, children and teenagers from 0-19 with life-limiting conditions from across Essex.
