A team of fundraisers took on steep inflatable obstacles on Friday during a fun-run for charity.

The run, which stretched 5km, had 10 inflatable slides and tunnels which participants needed to ascend.

The most challenging of the obstacles was the ‘plummet’, which was an near-on vertical drop slide.

The event, which took place at Chelmsford racecourse earlier this month, was in aid of the Polly Parrot Appeal at Basildon University Hospital and the team raised more than £500 for the charity.

Helen Mattock, capital and technical account at the hospital, said: “They all did amazingly well – especially Jeanette and Liz who faced their fear of heights and did a superb job. I’m so proud of them all.”
