WESTCLIFF High School for Girls recently paid tribute to former headteacher Nancy Howard by unveiling a portrait in her honour.
Mayor of Southend Faye Evans and MP Sir David Amess joined Ms Howard, local councillors and staff at the school, including current headteacher Dr Paul Hayman, for the unveiling of the new picture.
Ms Howard was headteacher at Westcliff High School for Girls from 1972 to 1990.
