More than 120 residents gathered at the Smallgains Social Club yesterday afternoon to see the presentation of a cheque to the First Responders.
The club raised a total of £1,500 through fundraising that will go towards equipment for the first responders.
Councillor Peter May said: “It was a lovely day. Loads of people donated prizes to the fundraisers, Gary Oliver was singing, everyone was donating, it was really enjoyable.
“Then we all came together at the club and presented the cheque.
“The first responders gave a talk about their work and a presentation about how to use the defibrillator and how to resuscitate.
“They’re amazing people, they have jobs and families but they give up their time.”
