Rochford District Council is asking residents to vote for their citizen of the year.
The council have opened the voting for people who have made a great contribution to charity or the community.
Lesley Butcher, chairman of Rochford District Council, said: “I’m looking out for outstanding young people who have gone above and beyond in our community, as well as those who make a big difference to the lives of younger people.”
Voting ends January 31.
