Three fire engines rushed to the M25 this morning to assist with a crash near the Dartford Crossing.

One vehicle had been struck and come to a stop in the outside lane between junction 29-30.

The driver and passenger managed to get out of the car to safety.

The first fire engine to arrive at the incident immediately made sure the roadway and incident scene was made safe by positioning their fire engine to prevent further collisions.

Fire crews requested the Highways Agency to attend the incident to deal with the vehicle which had then been moved to the hard shoulder.

Fire crews left the scene in the care of the Police and Highways Agency at 10:30am.
