TO help you before polling day on May 7, we have asked the political parties to explain why you should vote for them at the Tendring Council elections.

Conservative - Mick Page

IN the past five years, we delivered strong budget management, saving over £10million and attracting investment of over £50million.

We delivered great-quality services, including housing, leisure facilities and four Blue Flags for our beaches, while still retaining weekly bin collections.

We delivered free car parking for our residents, a quality refurbishment to Dovercourt’s leisure centre, staged great events, including the first UK Women’s Bike Tour, and an airshow with over 200,000 visitors worth £4million to our economy.

Our amazing, unprecedented £36million coastal defence scheme is restoring beaches, protecting our coastline and creating regeneration.

We have a rural panel looking at issues facing rural communities.

We led on a nationally recognised pilot supporting families, which is now established across Essex and recognised in Parliament.

But more needs to be done.

We allocated £500,000 for funding to small and mediumsized businesses, and £500,000 to stimulate growth.

We are excited about our work in Jaywick and it will lead to lasting change.

We have a sound financial position, unprecedented budget cuts and increasing demand for services.

While still saving £10million without impacting on front-line delivery, council tax has either been frozen or cut.

In real terms, you are paying less now than five years ago, ie: Band D £147.64. We will fight for you whether it is in Tendring, Essex, Westminster or Europe.

Elect Conservatives and you know you can trust us to manage budgets well and deliver great services for our whole community.
