Carmichael: we are definitely on the up
MANAGER Matt Carmichael is confident Harwich and Parkeston are “on the up again”.
The Shrimpers have won their first three games of the new Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League season, most recently last weekend’s 2-1 success at neighbours Little Oakley.
Goals from Bobby Bethell and Steve Oldhamstead, either side of an equaliser by the hosts’ Ashley Wood, mean the Shrimpers are second in the embryonic premier division table, level on points with Tollesbury.
And Carmichael says the mood is entirely positive, heading into tomorrow’s Border League Knockout Cup preliminary round tie at Tiptree Jobserve.
“We got another three points against Oakley and we’ve still got a 100 per cent record, so it’s all positive,” he told the Standard.
“We’re on the up again and now we want to push on."
