Brantham Athletic head into tomorrow’s FA Vase third round tie against Haringey Borough full of optimism.

Brantham had a similar cup run last year and will be looking to progress even further.

First they will have to overcome the North London team who are definitely no push-overs.

Recently appointed assistant manager Steve Downey has only been at the club for just over a week, but is doing everything he can to make sure Athletic are ready for the test.

“I watched Haringey Borough on Tuesday night and I have to say I was quite impressed.

“We are going to have to be at our best to win, but they have a very wide pitch, which will suit us because of the quality we have in the wide areas.

“They try and get the ball down and play football, as do we, so I think that it could be a very exciting game.”

“Every game is a priority at the moment.

“I’ve only been here a week and we are just trying to raise the level of the players game on a weekly basis, but we will be more than ready for them.”

The club have set up transport to tomorrow’s game, and a coach will be leaving Brantham Leisure Centre at 11.30 am.

Anybody interested in booking their seat on the coach should contact Darren Smith on 07866 414099.
