HOT prospect Laura Stephens is mixing with some of the best young swimmers in the country after earning a prestigious scholarship.
The 14-year-old former Harwich Swimming Club member has just started training at Plymouth College, under the guidance of award-winning England coach Jon Rudd.
Rudd will coach the England team at this year’s Commonwealth Games and recently won three international swimming awards, including being named British Coach of the Year.
The development is a major boost for Stephens, who is regarded as one of the country’s finest young swimming prospects, following her performances at club and county level.
“The step up in training is incredible and it’s very intense but Laura is determined to do well,” said mum Helen.
