BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent pocketed three more points in their quest for promotion tonight, holding on to win 2-1 at Brantham Athletic.
Terry Rymer won and converted an early penalty to put them in the driving seat, in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division contest at Brantham Leisure Centre.
In-form Rymer then had a hand in Regent’s second, after seeing his effort well-saved by debutant goalkeeper Danny Sambridge.
Scott Yearling was on hand to smash home the loose ball, doubling the visitors’ lead early in the second half.
Brantham refused to wave the white flag and forced some outstanding saves from Brightlingsea goalkeeper Dan Beeson.
Lee Grimwood’s close-range effort gave them hope, but it was not enough to prevent defeat.
