CHASE Lane Primary School are through to the national finals of football’s npower Trophy – within touching distance of a dream appearance at Wembley Stadium.

They booked their place after winning a regional qualifier, against 13 other top school sides from across Essex, at Colchester United’s training venue, in Boadicea Way.

The Dovercourt school were runners-up in their pool, after the group stages.

They then went on to beat Milwards School, from Harlow, on penalties in the semi-final, before sinking Kelvedon St Marys 2-0.

Chase Lane will now go forward to the southern national event, in Chippenham, on March 12.

The winners will play the northern national winners at Wembley in front of 80,000 spectators at the Championship play-off final in May.
