HARWICH and Dovercourt Rugby Club’s first team had a tough afternoon at home to third-placed Ely.

They lost Saturday’s Eastern Counties League division one contest 58-17.

It was always going to be a tough game, made harder by the re-arrangement of the fixture due to recent bad weather.

This resulted in several key players being unavailable for selection.

Harwich will now look to get back on track in tomorrow’s home match against Newmarket.

However, it promises to be another difficult game as the Suffolk side are second, two points behind leaders West Norfolk.

Harwich are third from bottom.
