THIRTEEN swimmers from Harwich entered the fifth Halstead Open gala, at Braintree.

They returned home with a haul of medals and personal bests.

Jack Howlett gained first place in three of his races – the 100 metres and 50m breaststroke and the 50m freestyle.

He also came second in his other three races – the 100m and 50m butterfly and the 100m freestyle.

Brogan Bates came first in the 100m freestyle and second in the 100m butterfly.

Also bringing home medals were Dom Baxter, fourth in both the 50m and 100m backstroke, Matthew Holmes, fourth in the 50m backstroke, William Kent, fifth in both the 50m backstroke and freestyle, Ruby Hammond, second in the 50m backstroke and third in the 50m freestyle, Megan Davies, fifth in the 100m individual medley and sixth in the 100m breaststroke, Michelle Lowbridge, fifth in the 50m butterfly and sixth in both the 50m freestyle and breaststroke, and Zoe Godfrey, third in both the 100m breaststroke and freestyle and fifth in the 50m freestyle and breaststroke.

Also competing were Holly Gooding, Ella Harris, and Emily Lowbridge.
