AN open meeting has been called to discuss the long-term future of Harwich and Parkeston.
And Shrimpers chairman Tony Armstrong has “extreme doubts” about whether the club can survive.
Promotion-chasing Harwich have applied to go up from the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League into the Thurlow Nunn League.
They are in the thick of a title race and there is every chance they will have an opportunity to move up to step six football.
Armstrong, who is questioning his own future, says it’s “crunch time” – but that the issue of promotion has raised a much bigger question about the club’s future.
