HARWICH and Dovercourt Cricket Club have gained their first victory of the new Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship season.
They beat Nacton by 69 runs in last weekend’s division five contest at Low Road.
Opener Tom Luxford gave their innings a solid foundation by hitting 55.
He was ably backed up by Aaron Bilton, who contributed 38, as Harwich were all out for 172.
In reply, Nacton could only muster 103 for seven, with Dinesh taking three for 21 in his 12 overs.
Steve Bushell took three for 32 in 15.
Former skipper Aaron Rudkin took the other wicket as Harwich gleaned 18 points.
They visit Braintree’s second team tomorrow.
