HARWICH and Dovercourt Cricket Club had a frustrating weekend following the cancellation of their match at Elmstead Grasshoppers.

The Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division five contest, against the hosts’ second team, was called off because of the wet weather. Both sides pocketed six points and Harwich will hope to get back in action tomorrow, when they entertain Earl Stonham.

Meanwhile, Harwich’s second team were in division seven action and beat Maldon’s third team by 69 runs.

Harwich twos head to Eight Ash Green tomorrow.

Harwich are second in PiriPiri North Essex League division four following last week’s two-wicket success at Kirby.

After the hosts made 221 for nine, Harwich reached 226 for eight, with Tom Luxford scoring 83.
