HARWICH Boxing Club held their annual meeting and presentation night.

The prizes were handed out by guests including Mayor and Mayoress Todd, club life president Malcolm Harman and Ipswich Ex-Boxers’ Association president Albie Kingham.

Head coach Martin Webb said: “It’s been a long and hectic season, yet ultimately rewarding.

“We have plenty of strength in depth within the camp and will look to build on these successes next season.”

Earlier in the evening at the AGM, it was voted to change the club’s name by dropping the word amateur.

National governing body the Amateur Boxing Association of England changed their name to England Boxing back in November.

Harwich Boxing Club, as it now known, will continue to be run by unpaid volunteers. The club is always on the look-out for new members and for more information call 07946 466857.
