LITTLE Oakley joint-boss Paul Sadler believes his high-flying side have everything to play for in 2015.

The Acorns finished this year with an emphatic 4-1 victory at Tiptree Jobserve, on Saturday.

It means they go into the festive break sitting fourth in the Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division – just four points behind leaders Gas Recreation.

They also have a game in hand on the reigning champions and, in an added twist, face Gas in their next game, on January 3.

“It was great to get back to winning ways, after dropping two points against Tollesbury (from a 1-1 draw) the previous Saturday,” said Sadler, who runs the side along with Sean Tynan.

“A bit of inconsistency crept in that day but this victory kept us right up there, in terms of the top teams.

“The top four are beginning to break away from the chasing pack and thankfully we’re very much in the mix."
