HARWICH and Parkeston joint-manager John Fidgett believes his high-flying squad can maintain their push for promotion.

After a tricky start to life in Essex and Border League division one, the Shrimpers sat third in the table heading into the Christmas break.

They are unbeaten in five, including four wins, and have only lost one of their last nine league fixtures.

Harwich had been due to resume their campaign at Alresford Colne Rangers, on Saturday.

However, the match was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and the club will try again when they host Elmden Rovers in tomorrow’s contest at the Royal Oak.

“Things have been going really well and if we can keep this squad together, I don’t see any reason why we can’t keep pushing for promotion,” said Fidgett, who runs the side along with Mark Sharp.
