HARWICH Boxing Club coach Martin Webb has hailed the “epic” performance of rising star Kasey Bradnum.
The 16-year-old celebrated a double victory at the weekend, resulting in him booking his place in this month’s National Championship quarter-finals, in County Durham.
His first success was in the under-64kg Essex youth final against Holland Park Amateur Boxing Club’s Billy Joe Foster, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, in Colchester.
He then followed it up 24 hours later with another eye-catching victory at the Eastern Counties final against Jake Sumner, from host club Sudbury.
Proud coach Webb said: “It was an epic performance from Kasey.
“It’s a big ask for a 16-year-old to compete so well two nights running, over the championship distance.
“Yet he pulled it off – much to the delight of everyone at the club.
“It’s testimony to his commitment and dedication that he’s achieved so much this season.
“He’s now through to the national quarter-finals and, in this form, he has every chance of progressing.”
