THE two Harwich Men’s League singles sections were played at Parkeston Railway Club and the Little Oakley Club.

The two players that won through at the Railway Club were Mick Parkin, from Squirrels, and George Lord, from Maybush.

Thirty-three singles attended the section.

On his way to winning, Parkin beat Jamie Lord, Steve Gunnell, Robbie Balaam and Nick Lawrie, who he defeated 3-1. George Lord beat Nick Grainger, Marcus Smith, Damian Smith and Lloyd Smith, pipping the latter 3-2.

Lloyd Smith scored two 180s and Damian Smith three 180s.

Ben Attridge, Shaun Fox and Jon Jo Thorpe scored one 180 each.

High finishes: George Lord 116 and 102 shot-outs, Nick Lawrie 115, Aaron Munson 110, George Calvert 107 and Mark Jiggins 105 shot-out.

Thirty-four players competed at Oakley and the winners were Martin Heath, from the Cricket Club, and Gary Fox, from Trafalgar.

Some good darts were played throughout, with the two finalists in great form.

En route to winning the section, Gary Fox beat Mick Mann 3-0, Darin Good 3-0, Neil Langdown 3-0 and Paul Rands, from the Flag, 3-1.

In his final game, Heath beat John Casley 3-1, Malcolm Bell 3-0, John Bennett 3-1 and Stu Elmer 3-2. Rands beat the favourite, Alan Collins, in the best game of the night, 3-2.

However, he could not sustain his good form, losing 3-1 to Fox.

Gary Fox scored two 180s and had two 14-dart legs.

Other high scores: Matt Good 2x180s and a 120 finish, Martin Heath, Dan Fox and Darin Good 180s, Steve Barratt 117 finish and Neil Langdown 113 shot-out.
