Rugby stalwarts set to be honoured at annual dinner
VOLUNTEERS from both Mistley and Harwich and Dovercourt Rugby Clubs are set to be honoured at an Eastern Counties Rugby Union dinner.
Clubs within the region were invited to put forward nominations for the President’s Awards.
Mistley’s Dee Besant has been chosen as volunteer of the year, while there will be “services to rugby” awards for Mistley’s Matt Course and Harwich’s Jim Hayter.
The 57th annual meeting and dinner is being held at The Atheneum, in Bury St Edmunds, on June 5.
The guest speaker will be former England international Rob Andrew, current director of rugby at the RFU.
