THE Harwich Men’s League B division Knockout Cup final was played at the United Services Club between Cherry Tree and Royal Oak.
Holders Cherry Tree took the honours for the second season running, winning 7-4.
The Cherries won the two trebles and three pairs games to take a 5-0 lead.
Royal Oak then won the next four singles games to move within a point.
However, Cherry Tree’s Lee Whittingham and Keith Abbott won the last two games for a 7-4 victory.
There was a 180 for Alan Lovett, of Royal Oak.
In the final A division games of the season, all the away teams won.
Champions Ind Coope A triumphed 6-2 at the Services club.
Dave Kempen, for the Services, scored a maximum 180.
Hanover A clinched the runners-up spot after winning 5-3 at Ind Coope B.
Rob Cole, for Ind Coope B, scored a 180.
Cricket Club, who lost 7-1 to bottom team Hanover B the previous week, won 5-3 at the Squirrels.
Captain Andy Carmichael won the last game to secure victory.
Team-mate Martin Jennings scored a 180 and Mark Barwood had a 101 finish.
Little Oakley finished in fourth place after their 6-2 win at Hanover B.
Rob Barton, for Oakley, had a 15-darter.
Maybush’s Jamie Lord had a 113 finish and George Lord a 110 finish.
The most wins in the A division went to Alan Collins and Kevin Edwards, both of Ind Coope A.
They both had 21 wins and the same players also had the most 180s (four each).
