ROSIE Mortimer was victorious in Harwich Angling Club’s latest evening midweek match, on Dock River.

The youngster (pictured) again caught consistently to achieve the match-winning weight of 6lb 12oz.

She trounced her opposition, using single red maggot on a pole rig and ground baiting little and often.

Thirteen anglers took part in this three-hour, silver fish only match, held on a bright but breezy evening.

The chilly north wind made conditions tricky for those anglers who drew pegs on the south bank.

All caught fish but many had 3lb or less, which was an indication of how tricky the conditions were.

It made keeping fish feeding hard and proved how skilful the top three were to gain their weights.

Paul Scott, on the dam wall pipe swim, had a 4lb 6oz haul of roach and skimmer bream to take third place.

John Pettitt, in the south-east corner peg, worked hard to get second with 4lb 12oz of roach, skimmers and perch.
