HARWICH Angling Club held a pairs team match.
It was an all fish count match, on the C pegs section of Dock River.
With the match starting in the rain – which continued non-stop for the first three hours – everyone was looking for signs of a bonus fish in their swims.
At the start of the match, carp activity was present, mainly around the mid-30 to mid-40 pegs.
However, some proved difficult to tempt away from the cover of the far-side reeds.
When the end-of-match whistle blew, it was John Pettitt, on peg C46, and junior member Liam Willis, on peg C34, who comfortably won with a combined weight of 11lbs 12ozs.
Second place went to Laurie Snell, on peg C40, and Billy Broadley, on peg C48, weighing in a combined 6lbs 4ozs.
Third place went to Steve Palmer, on peg C44, and Marc Snelling, on peg C42, with a combined 2lbs 2ozs.
The individual winner for the match was Pettitt, with a weight of 11lbs 12ozs, which included a bonus 10lbs 9ozs common carp.
Second place went to Snell, weighing in with 6lbs 4ozs, including a bonus 5lbs 14ozs common carp. Third place went to Palmer, with 1lb 15ozs of roach and perch.
