Pre-season friendly
THIS was an encouraging start for Harwich and their new management team of John Fidgett, Michael Hammond and Martin Warnes.
The trio have done well to assemble a useful squad in the short time since their appointment.
Ben Allington gave Brantham the lead with a smart finish but Harwich equalised when Matt Geen created the chance for Chris Stratton to score with a clinical finish.
The match proved a good work-out with action in both goalmouths.
Harwich snatched victory in the closing stages when Ashley Wood’s clever long pass was well-read by the alert Geen, who netted with a cracking shot.
Tomorrow, Harwich entertain Weeley Athletic at the Royal Oak in their second friendly (kick-off 3pm).
