HARWICH and Dovercourt’s cricketers are celebrating their second title in as many seasons.

The club have been crowned North Essex League division three champions, following Sunday’s eight-wicket success against Colchester Cavaliers.

They won 11 and lost just one of their 16 fixtures.

“It was a fitting end to the season for us, as we’ve answered every challenge thrown in front of us,” said skipper Dom Gueizelar.

“I’m extremely proud to have won back-to-back titles for the club.

“It’s exactly what we needed after some not-so-successful seasons of late.

“The lads have been brilliant and the banter and buzz we have as a team is what has helped us achieve something that hasn’t been done for a while at Harwich.

“I’d like to thank every player who has turned out for me this season.

“Next season will be another challenge and hopefully the success we’ve had will bring more budding players to the club as it’s what the town needs.”
