DRAGON Martial Arts held their annual awards presentation, with students attending from their branches in Clacton, Colchester, Harwich and Manningtree.
The main awards went to Logan Chilver ( junior newcomer), Daryl Bigg-Wither (senior newcomer), Ellie Zweck (fighter), Lily Krajewska (former), Fay Butler (spirit), Zofia Krajewska (junior martial artist) and Dave Couldrey (senior martial artist).
Along with the awards the club also staged their annual Club Championships.
Results: Weapons (children - brown and black belts): Thomas Butler. Weapons (children - purple belts and below): Axel Wallis. Weapons (adults - brown and black belts): 1 Ho Kwok, 2 Richard Poots. Open-hand forms (adults - brown and black belts): 1 Richard Poots, 2 Paul Sumner. Open-hand forms (adults - purple belts and below): Jonathan Martin. Open-hand forms (children - brown and black belts): 1 Thomas Butler, 2 Connor Cosgrove. Open-hand forms (children - purple belts and below): 1 Zofia Krajewska, 2 Lily Krajewska. Two/three person routine: 1 Big Fighters (Zofia and Lily Krajewska), 2 Old Dragons (Fred and Steve Evans). Men’s fixed step: 1 Dave Couldrey, 2 Paul Sumner. Girls’ sparring (under 50in): 1 Lily Krajewska, 2 Lily Hardwick. Girls’ sparring (over 50in): 1 Zofia Krajewska, 2 Ellie Zweck. Boys’ sparring: 1 Jack Partridge, 2 Ethan Cox. Men’s sparring: 1 Dave Couldrey, 2 Sam Stickland. Team event: 1 Colchester Girls, 2 Clacton.
