STANWAY ROVERS continued their winning ways in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division with a 3-0 success at home to Thetford Town.

Jamie Shaw, Ben Newson and Jordan Palmer scored their goals at The Hawthorns.

“It was a great win because we were very thin on the ground,” said manager Angelo Harrop.

It was Stanway’s third straight win and keeps them fourth in the table, just four points behind Felixstowe & Walton and five behind second-placed Godmanchester Rovers.

Elsewhere, in division one, HALSTEAD TOWN bounced back from last week’s 4-1 defeat at Leiston Reserves by winning 2-0 at King’s Lynn Town Reserves.

Tom Holdstock, playing in his first match since serving an eight-match ban, was their two-goal hero.

BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES crashed to a 6-1 defeat at Ely City.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC’S FA Vase dream is over after sliding to a 4-0 defeat at home to fellow Thurlow Nunn League side Kirkley & Pakefield.

Three of the goals came in the second half.
