FOUR of Harwich and Dovercourt Hockey Club’s younger players represented Suffolk.

They entertained a top Dutch side at Olympic Park, in Lee Valley.

Thirteen-year-old Miah Reynolds played in goal for Suffolk’s under-14s against an under-15 Dutch side. She had an excellent game, dominating her circle and making some excellent saves in a 1-1 draw.

Emma and Jess Joslin, along with Josie Brosnan, played for Suffolk’s under-17s against an under-18 side.

All three had superb games in a 3-1 win. Emma, who played up front, went close to scoring but was unselfish and passed for her team-mate to score.

Josie played in midfield and never stopped running, really controlling the middle.

Jess, who is recovering from an appendix operation, had a solid game at the back.

They also had the pleasure of meeting England player Christa Cullen, who plays her hockey for Leicester and has 91 caps.

The last two weekends have seen Reynolds and Emma Joslin both playing for Suffolk in the Eastern Championships.

This coming weekend, Harwich should complete their Suffolk Premier League season at Christchurch in Ipswich.
