TRAFALGAR and Hanover A have won through to the Harwich Men’s League Division A Knockout Cup final.

They will now meet at the United Services club on May 6.

The Division B final, between Rangers and Ships, will take place on April 22, also at the United Services club.

Trafalgar won through after winning 7-4 in their semi-final against Maybush.

Both teams won a treble game each.

Traf then won the three pairs contests to go into the singles leading 4-1.

Both teams won three each in the singles.

For Maybush, the singles winners were George Lord, Steve Lawrie and Jamie Lord.

Traf’s winners were Shaun Fox, Alan Scurrell, who won the sixth winning game, and Dan Fox.

Shaun Fox scored 180 and 171, Dan Fox had a 103 shot-out and, for Maybush, Ciaren Swaine had a 110 finish.

In the other semi-final, Hanover A defeated Ind Coope A 7-4.

Hanover won both the trebles games and two of three pairs to go into the singles 4-1 up.

Both teams then won three games each in the singles.

For Ind Coope, Neil Langdown, Peter Barton and Gavin Johnson won their games, while for Hanover the winners were John Bennett, Alan Mathieson, who won the sixth game, and Peter Cheesman.

John Collins scored 171 for the Coope.

Elsewhere, Rangers beat R/A Club 7-4.

R/A Club went 2-1 up, before Rangers won two of the three pairs games to go 3-2 up.

They then won four out of the six singles games to win the match.

Singles winners for the R/A Club were Tommy Cairns and Andrew Perry, while Rangers’ winners were Gary Farrow, Phil Armstrong, Dave Kempen, who won the sixth game, and Tom Armstrong.

Ships pipped Shakers 6-5.

Shakers could not get the doubles and ended up losing, after at one time leading 5-2.

Ships won the last four singles games to take the game.

Ships’ single winners were Kris Muir, Jack Newell (180), Nick Lawrie and Jamie Doogan who, last on, won the game for the Ships.

Dean Singleton, last on for the Shakers, had six darts to win the game.

The league continues tonight.

In division A, Ind Coope A lead Hanover A by nine points.

Coope could clinch the A division title if they win their home game against the Golf Club.

Hanover A have a local derby game with Hanover B.

In Division B, leaders Royal Oak have a tough game at third-placed Ships, who are three points behind.

Also three points away are Rangers, who are home to the Flag.
