HARWICH Boxing Club had three juniors feature on the Sudbury ABC show.

This year’s Eastern Counties champion, Stevie Martin junior, led the way in his encounter with Newham ABC’s Mark Smith.

The 14-year-old started positively and his fast hands and good movement saw him take the first session.

Smith upped his game in the second, as he came looking for Martin.

However, the Harwich boxer was too sleek and classy counter-punching saw him move ahead.

More of the same in the last saw Martin home on a deserved unanimous points decision with his best performance of the season to date.

Ten-year-old Cameron Walker continued his ring education, also against a Newham boxer in the shape of Michael Connors.

The pair met in a non-decision skills bout.

Walker displayed a nifty right hook in a well-appreciated three-round encounter as he completed his fifth skills bout.

Making his debut for Harwich, in a skills bout, was 14-year-old Josh Darvell, who faced Holland Park ABC’s Liam Rose.

Darvell posted a very good first round and gained valuable experience during this match up.
