HARWICH Swimming Club travelled to Witham for the final round of the Essex Mini League.
They came away with a fabulous second place - just 13 points behind winners Basildon.
Individual first places were achieved by Luke Powell, in the 10 and under 50 metres backstroke, Zachary Herbert, in the open 50m butterfly, Elin Beegan, in the 10 and under 50m breaststroke, Raquel Da Silva, in the 13 and under 50m breaststroke and 50m fly, Tommy Cooper, in the 13 and under 50m breaststroke, Matthew Kent, in the 13 and under 50m backstroke, and Joshua Annett, in the 10 and under 25m butterfly.
The nine-year-old boys' medley team and the 11 and under boys and 13 and under boys' freestyle teams also gained first places in their relay races.
There were many personal bests, in particular Oliver Dann beating his original time in the 11 and under 50m breaststroke by 11 seconds, and a 10-second personal best by Joshua Annett in his butterfly race.
Joshua was awarded the swimmer of the gala for all his achievements.
The final points were Basildon 176, Harwich 163, Saffron Seals 161, Witham 122 and Hornchurch 90.
