MEMBERS of Dragon Martial Arts School attended the BCCMA (British Council for Chinese Martial Arts) Taijiquan Championships in Hatfield.
This is a government sports council event and the official championships for Kung Fu.
The first event of the day was Sun Style Short Weapon.
This is a specialist subject of the club and there was a clean sweep of the medals, with gold going to club senior instructor Keith Dwan.
This was shortly followed by the ladies' weapon category, with former world champion Sara Joyce (Healy) winning the bronze.
The final category for the club was Yang Style Short Weapon, where, again, there was a clean sweep achieved by the club.
Jonathan Martin was awarded gold with a spectacular Yang Style Sabre form.
Results: National champion (gold): Keith Dwan and Jonathan Martin.
Silver: Ian Pierson and Pete Delves.
Bronze: Sara Joyce, Carl Wildon and Jason Firth.
