PARKRUN history was made at Harwich.

First across the line this week was young Leo Knott, aged just 12 weeks old, beating his dad by a split second.

This is because Leo was being pushed by dad Graeme in a buggy.

It was the tenth time Harwich Runner Graeme Knott has won the Harwich Parkrun - although the first time pushing a buggy - and his time on Saturday was 18 minutes and 51 seconds.

Just 30 seconds behind Graeme and Leo was Nick Davies in a new personal best (PB) time of 19m 20s.

Davies has run six times recently and achieved a PB on four occasions.

The third runner home was Parkrun tourist Ian Humphreys, all the way from Porthcawl, in Wales.

Club members Norman Gooch and Ian Cannons finished in the top ten.

Gooch was seventh, in 21m, and Cannons eighth, in 21m 58s.

In tenth place was Kate Hodgkiss - the mother of young Leo - and the first lady to finish, in a new PB time of 21m 58s. With parentage of this calibre, the new arrival must have one of the best set of running genes around.

Club members to achieve PB this week were Michael Turner, in 22m 59s, Ken Dalby, in 25m 26s, Edward McCreadie, in 27m 51s, and Zoe Orr, in 31m 45s.

Richard Flutter was in action at his regular Parkrun venue, in Great Cornard.

This week he finished fourth in 17m 44s.

He followed this with a cross-country race on Sunday in the grounds of Framlingham Castle.

He finished 42nd out of around 500 runners.
