CHASE Lane Primary School pupils shone at the indoor athletics county finals, in Harlow.

They did themselves and their school proud by finishing tenth overall.

The Dovercourt team performed exceptionally well, particularly in the soft javelin, the boys' four by one relay and the triple jump, considering the complexity of the event.

Chase Lane had booked their place at Harlow by winning the north Essex finals.

Twenty-six children represented their school and produced amazing individual and team performances to win the competition and progress to the county finals.

Track events included a two by one-lap relay, a two by two-lap relay, an obstacle relay, the six-lap Parlauf and the four by one-lap relay.

In the field events, children competed in chest push, soft javelin, long, triple and vertical jumps and speed bounce.

Throughout both events the children showed a real togetherness and a great team spirit.
