ALL Saints Primary School are celebrating more sporting success.

Despite only having 80 pupils, they saw off all the big primary schools in the area and came second at the Harwich schools netball competition - the first time they have finished as runners-up in the event since 1984.

The Great Oakley school beat Spring Meadow 3-0, St Georges 4-1, Mayflower 4-2, Chase Lane 3-0, Ardleigh 3-0 and All Saints (Dovercourt) 5-0.

At this point, the results were neck-and-neck between All Saints and St Josephs.

Both teams had won all their games heading into their last match against each other, which St Josephs went on to win 4-2.

"It was a real nail-biter and a fantastic competition, full of drama," said proud teacher and coach Tina Bishop.

"Our all-girl team has been practicing every lunch and break time off their own back, so it was nice to see their hard work and dedication rewarded."
