HARWICH and Dovercourt Rugby Club have had four ladies represent the Eastern Counties.
Forwards Naomi Dobner and Mimi Montgomery and backs Annalise Allan and Kristin Kvalvik all played in the Gill Burns Women's County Championship, competing against Cheshire, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.
Montgomery and Dobner were consistently strong performers in the forwards, both scoring one try each over the four games.
After a strong display during the opening win over Warwickshire CB Women, Owls centre Kvalvik picked up an injury and was unable to compete during the final three fixtures.
Allan played every match at fly-half, kicking an impressive 13 conversions over the four-game competition.
The championship was very successful for the Eastern Counties ladies, with the team winning three of the four games, only losing narrowly 23-15 to league winners Leicestershire.
The ladies will now focus on pre-season with the Harwich and Dovercourt Owls, before competing in next season's Women's NC South East North One League.
Any ladies looking to start up ladies' rugby should get in touch via Harwich and Dovercourt’s website or Facebook page.
