HARWICH and Dovercourt Golf Club held their annual Centenary Cup.

Forty-nine members took part and the event was played in favourable conditions, with only a slight breeze.

Steve Harding won with a very impressive 43 points.

In second, on countback, was Charlie Steel, with 40 points, and in third was Danny Turner, who also scored 40 points.

Meanwhile, Linda Burrows was again crowned ladies' champion with a gross score of 138 over the 27-hole competition.

The Trixie Lambert 27-hole handicap trophy was won by Kate Fender and Phyllis Boddy took the honours in the 18-hole handicap prize, on countback from Anne Myers.

Sue Hayes was the winner of the Kitty Edmonds stableford trophy, scoring 32 points, just pipping Mary Allston on 31 and Carol Wrayton on 30.

A charity stableford competition was won by Sue Keen, with 33 points.

Kate Fender was second and Ruth Stapleton third.
