Cole Kpekawa says he was pleased with the way he performed after making his first-ever Football League appearance for Colchester United.
But the on-loan QPR youngster says the U’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Coventry City tarnished his senior professional debut.
Kpekawa impressed on his Colchester bow, having joined them on a month’s loan from Premier League side Rangers last week.
The 18-year-old left-back shone both in defence and attack for the U’s but was unable to prevent them from falling to a third successive league defeat.
Kpekawa said: “It was a big day for me with my first-ever league appearance but unfortunately, we couldn’t get the win.
“I thought I did OK but you can always do a little bit better and hopefully I can improve even more in our next game."
