Colchester United manager Tony Humes says he is unlikely to make any more permanent signings before the transfer window closes, next Monday.
However, the U's boss is likely to raid the loan market again to bolster his squad for the all-important run-in.
The U’s have already snapped up Sheffield United striker Chris Porter and Alex Wynter from Crystal Palace this month.
And they have also brought in Millwall defender Matthew Briggs and Ipswich Town striker Jack Marriott on loan.
Humes said: “There’s a possibility to do something, if we need to and want to.
“There isn’t anything in the pipeline at this moment in time but there are possibilities.
“But there’s nothing more coming in on a permanent basis, at this moment in time.”
