Colchester United defender Frankie Kent has suffered a setback in his comeback from a knee injury.
The U's were hoping that Kent might be able to return in the coming weeks, to boost their battle against the drop.
But Kent, 19, who has been out since November, has undergone a scan on the injury, for which he underwent surgery on at the end of last year.
Writing in his programme notes, U's head physio Tony Flynn said: "Frankie Kent was spending his time out on the training ground but has suffered a setback.
"He has had a scan but we are waiting for the results, hoping that it's not too serious.
"He won't be pushed even if the outcome is positive, we need him to be 100% right."
