Colchester United are hoping the recent feel-good factor will tempt more supporters to the Weston Homes Community Stadium after announcing a small increase in season-ticket prices for the 2015-16 campaign.

But although prices are going up, existing U’s full season-tickets holders will be able to benefit from a price freeze until mid-June.

Colchester will be playing League One football next season, following their dramatic final-day escape against Preston North End.

Prices for a season-ticket to watch the U’s at the Community Stadium will go up around five per cent after the initial Early Bird period, which lasts until June 16.

Current full season-ticket holders will be able to renew their seats at the same price as the current campaign until that period, before prices increase on June 17.

U’s general manager Tim Waddington said: “We reduced prices in 2012/13 and froze them last season but have had to factor in a small price increase after our price freeze period in May.

“But we will continue to work hard on and off the pitch to ensure that fans get great value for money and to see their team continue the fine form with which they finished the season.”

Season-ticket holders will once again have club vouchers and free admission to under-21 games as part of the package.

Under-11 season tickets will be free on a one adult to one child ratio, while the U’s successful under-11 matchday offer of four children to one adult will also continue.

Nearly 7,000 spectators under the age of 11 watched the U’s in action in 2014/15.
