England centurion Casey Stoney says she is looking forward to playing at Colchester after they were chosen to host the Lionesses' Women World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan in November.

They will play the second of two crucial qualifying games at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday, November 28 (7.05pm kick-off).

Prior to the game at Colchester, they will also take on Bosnia and Herzegovina at Banks’s Stadium in Walsall on Friday November 24.

It will be the sixth time that a national side has come to the Community Stadium since the U's move there from Layer Road, in 2008.

The last time England's women play at Colchester was back in July, 2009 when they were beaten 2-0 by Iceland in a friendly in front of a crowd of more than 4,000.

And Liverpool defender Stoney said: “These games will be really important in setting the tone for our World Cup qualification campaign and we’ll be absolutely determined to get two good wins in front of our own fans.

“I’m particularly looking forward to playing in Colchester, I come from Basildon so it’s great to have a game in Essex.

“We really enjoy taking our games around the country and giving as many people as possible the chance to come and watch us.

“We have had such fantastic support so far during the Euros and hopefully we’ll have two big crowds at both games.”

England will open their Group One qualifying campaign against Russia at Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park on Tuesday, September 19 (7.05pm kick-off).
