Colchester United played out a 0-0 draw at Coventry City on Saturday afternoon.

The U’s are now unbeaten in four away matches in League Two, following their goal-less stalemate at the Ricoh Arena.

John McGreal’s side, who have lost only one of their last six league matches and host Crewe Alexandra, next weekend.

Here, Colchester United reporter Jonathan Waldron rates the players following a hard-earned point on the road:

SAM WALKER 7

Commanded his area well and played his part in third clean sheet in six games.

TOM EASTMAN 8

Defended very well and showed some fancy footwork in the Coventry box.

RYAN INNISS 9

U’s man of the match. Solid as a rock at the heart of the U’s defence. Booked.

FRANKIE KENT 8

An excellent defensive display by the young centre-back; hardly put a foot wrong.

RYAN JACKSON 7

Spent more time defending than attacking but still produced a competent display.

SEAN MURRAY 7

Produced another energetic display but will be disappointed to have fluffed a good first-half chance.

BRANDON COMLEY 8

Made some vital blocks and tackles and kept the U’s ticking over in midfield.

TOM LAPSLIE 7

Had a good game on return to the starting line-up prior to being harshly sent off.

DREY WRIGHT 7

Produced a professional and tireless performance as the U’s left wing-back.

MIKAEL MANDRON 7

Worked his socks off and physicality caused Coventry defence problems throughout.

BRANDON HANLAN 7

Chances and goalmouth action were few and far between for the U’s on-loan striker.

SUBSTITUTES

CRAIG SLATER (for Hanlan, 78) 6

Did the simple things well in the closing stages in the aftermath of Lapslie’s dismissal.

NICKE KABAMBA (for Mandron, 89) 5

Had little time to make an impact after coming off the substitutes bench late on.

SUBSTITUTES (NOT USED): James, Kinsella, O’Sullivan, Odelusi, Gilmartin.
