SOUTHEND-ON-SEA & EMT will hope to spring another shock when they take on league leaders Upminster tomorrow in Division One.

The table-toppers were surprisingly beaten by third-from-bottom Hadleigh & Thundersley in their last match, as they lost for just the second time this season.

And Southend will be looking to pile on the pain after their comfortable six-wicket win over Fives & Heronians last time out.

Captain Joe Robbins’ team have a good chance of ending the weekend in the top two if they get the result they want, as they aim to put some distance between themselves and Harold Wood, just a point below them.

Hadleigh & Thundersley have an excellent chance to make it three wins in succession when they visit bottom side Loughton.

Adam Soilleux and his team have flourished in recent weeks and victory tomorrow would put Hadleigh in a strong position moving forward.

Loughton have won just one of their 11 matches so far this season and are in desperate need of the points when the match gets underway at 12.30pm.

Billericay are 35 points clear of the drop zone but have had a drastic collapse in recent weeks, with four defeats on the bounce.

They welcome Harlow who have shown a marked improvement in recent weeks, with back-to-back victories lifting them to fifth in the table.

Billericay were beaten by Harold Wood last time out and will need to reverse their fortunes soon otherwise they risk being dragged into a relegation battle in the closing weeks of the season.

Orsett & Thurrock will attempt to keep their automatic promotion bid on track when they make the trip to Woodford Wells.

However, back-to-back defeats have left Orsett & Thurrock looking over their shoulders.
