Friendly game may be in doubt

TONY Armstrong is very doubtful tomorrow’s Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League Representative friendly can go ahead at the Royal Oak.

The league XI are scheduled to entertain Haverhill Sports Association.

However, Harwich chairman Armstrong has already alerted officials to say his club’s pitch is still waterlogged.

And with more rain on the way, he says it is highly unlikely the game can go ahead at the Oak, meaning it could be switched to a different venue, possibly Alresford Colne Rangers or Lawford Lads.

“I’m fairly certain it won’t take place here,” he said.

“And I’ve pre-alerted league officials to tell them what the situation is.”

Jimmy Chatters is the only Harwich player in the Border League XI.
