HARWICH Amateur Boxing Club are celebrating an historic night that reflects their progress and strength in depth.
The club were represented by a record-breaking dozen boxers – more than ever before – when they hosted their fourth annual winter dinner show at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Head coach and founder member Martin Webb believes such a healthy turn-out indicates the positivity surrounding the Main Road club.
“In our 16-year history, we’ve never had so many boxers on one show,” he said.
“The previous best was eight, so we beat it comfortably and got into double figures for the first time. Five were seniors, six were juniors and one was involved in a skills bout.
“It was a great achievement for all concerned and another big milestone for our club."
