Harwich looking to climb ladder again

HARWICH and Parkeston have signalled their ambition to start reclimbing the non-league ladder.

The Shrimpers enquired about applying for promotion from the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League back into the Thurlow Nunn League.

They were told they had missed the deadline and would have to wait another season.

But the move has opened a discussion about the merits of trying to push on into a higher league.

That represents a change in stance, given that the club have previously said they do not have the finances or support to make promotion a reality.
